Live Life
Every day is a gift from God. How many times have we heard this and agreed and carried on with our lives? Having the mentality of living every day as if it’s your last gives you a totally different perspective on life. God tells us “Come now, you who say, today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business, and make a profit. You do not even know what will happen tomorrow! What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”
Sobering words but it’s these words that give us the reality check we sometimes need. With the covid 19 virus stopping our world, our routine and our future plans – we understand what it’s like not to be in control. Actually, we never were – we just liked to think we were. We have no control on how long we have on this earth. But God encourages us to rejoice and be glad in the day/s He has given each of us. We can sit and worry our way through the days we have, or we can live them to the maximum. The choice is ours.
Four months ago, I arrived in Australia for a short visit to the farm – four months later I am still here and my husband Jeff is stuck in Dubai. I choose not to get upset or worry about it but accepted that this is where God wanted me to be. It definitely wasn’t what I had planned – because if it was, I would have bought more winter clothes, my favourite books etc Ha!! Once you accept situations then it’s easier to move forward with God’s will for your life. And it’s a daily decision.
Every morning I surrender the controls of my life to God – and in doing so release an overwhelming sense of peace and freedom. The world cannot promise you contentment, security, peace and hope for the future, God on the other hand can. He always keeps His word. So, it’s a no brainer!
